Copper Nickel

Copper Nickel accepts submissions of poetry , fiction , essays , and translation folios from September 1 to December 15, January 15 to March 1 . Please submit four to six poems , one story , or one essay at a time, and please wait at least six months between submissions. For prose we do not have any length restrictions —but longer-than-normal pieces have to earn their space . For a translation feature , submit five to ten poems or a piece of prose (fiction or nonfiction). If we accept, we’ll ask for a contextualizing introductory essay of 500-1200 words. We DO accept simultaneous submissions , though we ask you to contact us if submitted work is accepted elsewhere . Writers of the Future

The most enduring and influential contest in the history of SF and Fantasy L. Ron Hubbard’s Writers of the Future Contest is an opportunity for new writers of science fiction and fantasy to have their work judged by some of the masters in the field and discovered by a wide audience. No entry fee is required and entrants retain all publication rights. Entries in the Writers of the Future Contest are adjudicated only by professional writers. Prizes of $1000, $750 and $500 are awarded every three months. From the four quarterly 1st Place winners each year, a panel of judges select one story as the grand prize winner. The writer of the grand-prize-winning story receives the L. Ron Hubbard Golden Pen Award and an additional $5000 cash prize. More details

About us Overland  is a quarterly print journal (publishing essays, stories and poetry) and an online magazine, publishing non-fiction articles each week day. Overland also occasionally publishes special online editions of fiction and poetry. Call for Submissions: TDotSpec Magazine We are currently seeking exciting, entertaining, thought-provoking, and well-written speculative fiction (broadly defined), without limitation on content or theme, in the range of 100 to 10,000 words . Stories in the range of 2 to 5 thousand words are preferred. We offer a semi-professional rate of CAD 1.5c/word for original fiction (CAD $15/1000 words).
