Button Eye Review

Full details  Button Eye Review is a literary magazine and an imprint of Ember Chasm Review . We are looking for stories and poetry within the genres of horror, Gothic, dark fantasy, dark science fiction, thriller, crime, and mystery. We want the stories that bury themselves under dead leaves and gravel, the ones you can only find if you go through the locked door, the ones that crawl to disturbed, alienated places and people.  To get a sense of what we enjoy, look to the films of Ari Aster, Jordan Peele, and Robert Eggers. We also love the writing of Neil Gaiman, Stephen King, Shirley Jackson, Mary Shelley, and Joe Hill, and the video games The Last of Us, Outlast , and Condemned.  Though Button Eyes only accepts previously unpublished work, we are happy to review simultaneous submissions. Just let us know if your piece is accepted elsewhere. We accept submissions year round and publish up to two stories and two poems per month. Unfortunately, t...

Tales to Terrify

Full details  What we’re looking for Tales to Terrify is a volunteer-run fan podcast featuring short horror, dark fantasy, and other disturbing fiction. We greatly value diversity and inclusivity, and seek to publish fiction from writers of different races, religions, nationalities, physical or mental abilities, gender identities, and sexual orientations. We encourage you to challenge the definition of horror. Standard tropes and monsters are welcome, but give us your own unique take. Avoid the cliche and expected, unless as devices used purposefully and cleverly to further your story. Drag us deep into the unsettling atmosphere of a crumbling Gothic mansion. Show us the gritty, real-world horrors of evil people with dark intentions. Make our blood run cold and our breath catch in our throats as we’re hunted by ravenous creatures. Unhinge our minds with reality-bending, psychological horrors. Make us feel the pain and sorrow of a long-suffering ...
