WHY PUBLISH WITH US
JOFFE BOOKS is one of the UK’s leading independent publishers of excellent commercial fiction, especially crime and mystery fiction. We are renowned for working closely with authors from across the world to create fantastic books and turning them into best-sellers.
We accept submissions from agents, previously published authors (including self-published authors) with long backlists, first-time writers with only one book under their belt, and anyone in between. We pride ourselves on the passion and dedication we pour into each and every book we publish.

Before submitting, please read the guidelines below.
WHAT WE PUBLISH
Our favourite genres are crime fiction, mysteries, psychological thrillers, cosy crime, police procedurals, chillers, suspense and domestic noir. We will also consider women’s fiction, historical fiction and romance novels.
We encourage authors of colour, LGTB+ authors, differently abled authors, authors from diverse backgrounds to submit their work and make their voices heard.
We especially look for great stories, fresh ideas, excellent writing and original voices; in short authors who say something interesting about the world as they see it.
We publish writers we believe in, from debut novelists and agented authors, to self-represented writers and authors who are already well-established.
We will only look at non-fiction, YA fiction, children's fiction, sci-fi or erotica in exceptional cases. If these are your genres, we are probably not the publisher for you.
GETTING PUBLISHED

Your full-length book attached as a .pdf or Word .doc (Word .doc preferred).
A 3-paragraph synopsis in the body of the email, including what genre you see your book belonging in.
100 words about yourself in the body of the email.
The word submission in the subject line of your email, so that it reaches the right people.
Please let us know where you heard about Joffe Books.
We will be in touch within three months if your submission is of interest. During this window, please only get in touch if you have an offer from another publisher or if you have signed up with a literary agent.
Please note: we receive a massive amount of submissions. We read every one and would love to be able to respond to each, but we simply don’t have the resources to do so. If you don’t hear from us within three months, please assume that your submission is unsuccessful. Do not be disheartened if you don’t hear from us. What is not right for us may be exactly what another publisher is seeking. We encourage you to look for other opportunities to publish elsewhere.
