MTP Short Story Competition is open for submissions for 2025.

  Full details    Submission Guidelines: 3,000-word maximum – no minimum Open to ALL AUTHORS worldwide. Multiple entries and simultaneous submissions are allowed. Choose your own title and themes/genres. Entry fee: Early bird entry £6 – until 10th March. Drue Heinz Literature Prize

 Full details  The Drue Heinz Literature Prize recognizes and supports writers of short fiction and makes their work available to readers around the world. The award is open to authors who have published a book-length collection of fiction or at least three short stories or novellas in commercial magazines or literary journals. Manuscripts are judged anonymously by nationally known writers. Past judges have included Robert Penn Warren, Joyce Carol Oates, Raymond Carver, Margaret Atwood, Russell Banks, Rick Moody, and Joan Didion. Atwood Gibson Writers' Trust Fiction Prize

 Full details  Apply Online Prize Guidelines A prize of $60,000 will be awarded to the novel or short story collection published between October 1, 2024 and September 30, 2025 that, in the opinion of the jurors, is the year’s best book of fiction. The jurors will shortlist between three and five titles. Prizes of $5,000 will be awarded to each of the finalists. Eligibility Criteria Publishers should note that the prize is for literary excellence and therefore they should only submit books they deem outstanding in this regard. Canterbury Festival Poet of the Year Competition 2025

  Full details  The Canterbury Festival Poet of the Year Competition launches on Monday 3 March and you have until Monday 2 June to submit your entry. Poems entered may be on any subject and in any poetic format but no more than 60 lines long. They should be submitted with an entry form which may be downloaded below, and a fee of £5 per poem . We are delighted to share that the prize money this year has been increased, so the winner not only receives the title of Canterbury Festival Poet of the Year, but also £300. Second place wins £150, and third £75. So, polish up those sonnets, limericks and haikus, prepare your elegies and odes, then send them to the Festival Office. Ironbridge Poetry Competition 2025

  Full details  We are delighted to be running the Ironbridge poetry competition on behalf of the Ironbridge Festival once again (a little earlier in the calendar year than previously). The competition is open to poets from across the globe, and poems on any and every subject are welcome. First prize in our competition will win £300, with a second prize of £125, and three third prizes of £25 each. In addition, poems sent in by people living in a TF postcode will also be eligible for our local prize of £50. The competition opens on Tuesday April 1st, and entries need to be in before the deadline of 6pm on May 26th.
