Submissions

We hope to publish some of the best debut poetry and fiction in the UK. Could you be one of the authors we're looking for?

We are delighted to announce our inaugural call for poetry chapbook submissions. A call for fiction chapbook submissions will follow in 2026.

Eligibility:

  •  You must be resident in the UK or the Republic of Ireland.

  •  You must not have previously published a pamphlet/chapbook or full-length collection of poetry.

  • You are welcome to submit the work simultaneously to other publishers--just withdraw the work immediately should you learn it's been accepted elsewhere.

Initial Submission:

  • Three poems or up to five pages representative of your manuscript.

  • A cover letter up to one page introducing yourself and your work.

  • Submit the cover letter and poems as a single document in a readable font of 12-14 point.

Longlist Process:

  • Selected poets will be invited to submit a full manuscript of approximately 24 pages of text.

  • At least one debut chapbook from a global majority/disadvantaged poet will be published, and two chapbooks will be published in total.

Entries will be accepted 15 June-15 July 2025. The longlist will be announced and all longlisted poets contacted by 24 July, and the longlisted poets will have until 31 July to submit their complete manuscripts.

Entry fee: £10. As of 1 July, our remaining free entries are reserved for low-income, global majority authors on a first-come basis via our email address--not contact form--below, and a notice will be posted here when the free entries are gone. Please simply let us know if you can't afford the fee.

Winners will have their work published as a limited edition chapbook in the autumn, receive 10 free copies, and be able to purchase additional copies at 50% of the cover price. A celebratory launch will be hosted in Bristol in the autumn.

We welcome diverse voices and perspectives. Some of our favourite living poets include Liz Berry, Natalie Diaz, Forrest Gander, Terrance Hayes, Kei Miller, Claudia Rankine, Safiya Sinclair, Tracy K. Smith--and many more!

From 15 June through 15 July, you can upload your entry here at this link. The link will take you to a Google form where you can record your details and upload as a single document a cover letter and your three poems/five pages. Entries for which there is not an agreed free entry or fee payment will be deleted; payments must be made by 15 July. (The payment link will be available on the website by 15 June.)
