How to submit to Salt
If you would like to let us consider your writing, please send your entire, final, edited manuscript in MS Word, along with a covering letter providing the following:
- Your contact details.
- A short description of your manuscript.
Please also consider the following in your letter:
- Are you familiar with our list and feel confident that your work suits us?
- Are you comfortable with actively collaborating with us in marketing your title and working with others in the book trade to help make your book a success? No matter how good a book is, it will only succeed if the author gets behind it.
- Are you confident you have the personal time available to support your work once it is in the public domain?
- Do you have an online presence? Please let us have links to your social media profiles, website or blog.
Email this letter along with your manuscript to jen@saltpublishing.com between the 1st and 30th of November.
Please note the following:
- We cannot provide any feedback on your manuscript, sorry. Nor can we provide guidance on where else to send your work.
- We are open-minded and happy to consider a variety of genres, but we focus particularly on well-rounded characters and well written, compelling stories that haven't been told before.
- We publish:
- fiction (novels and short stories),
- narrative non-fiction
- poetry
- Please do not submit books for children.
- We are only interested in work that has not already been published, including self-published either in book or e-book format.
It may take some time to read through submissions. Importantly, if you do not hear back from us within six months, please assume that you've not been successful this time. Bear in mind we only have a limited number of slots available on our list, so failure to hear from us may not reflect anything other than bad luck.
We look forward to reading your work!
