We are looking for: Strong voices in literary fiction, mysteries, historical fiction. We prefer the word count to be between 70,000 and 100,000. We only consider literary fiction with a story that has a distinctive voice. If the author has a developed author platform please include that information. We do not publish young adult or children’s books.

Guidelines for All Submissions

Be sure that your cover/query letter and manuscripts are properly formatted in Microsoft  word. Please include your name, address, phone number and email.

Please submit your query letter as a pitch about your work in a short paragraph and include what book category your work falls into. Include three files: biography, the first three chapters and synopsis in Microsoft Word. We do not accept excerpts or synopsis that are pasted in the body of the email.

Please format the attached documents as follows:

Sample 50 pages or 3 Chapters:
— title page: contact information (full name, mailing address, email address), genre, and word count.
— double-spaced and numbered pages.
— 12-point, Times New Roman font.
— no extra returns between paragraphs and dialogue.
— use Microsoft Word defaults for indenting the first line of each new paragraph (.5 inch).

The synopsis:
— please be sure the synopsis is 3-5 pages and includes how the book ends. We do not accept synopses or excerpts that are pasted in the body of the email.

A biography and promotional information as one separate document.

To avoid confusion, each attachment MUST include the title of your manuscript. For example: THECROWSBEAK-synopsis; THECROWSBEAK-sample50; THECROWSBEAK-bio&promo.

— We do not consider new books that have already been published in any format, including eBook only. We do welcome reprints from established authors of titles that are currently out of print, unless they are already available in any eBook formats. Please have proof ready that the rights have reverted to you.

— If you have signed a contract with another publisher, please let us know.

— Do not submit manuscripts via a bulk email messaging service such as SendGrid, MailChimp, etc. None of these services can follow our submission guidelines.

Thanks for your cooperation. Authors and agents following our submission guidelines helps us review material more efficiently. Unagented and agent submissions are welcome. Authors should keep us informed if a manuscript is no longer available.

Generally, if we decline a manuscript, we felt it wasn’t a fit for any of the publishing imprints.  If you do not hear back from us, please understand that the sheer volume of queries can be overwhelming, please query us after four months and resend the query letter.
