  4. Entries must have been unpublished in print or online, or not been broadcast.
  5. Entries can be on any theme or subject but must be original and written in English. They must also be for adult or young adult readers who are over 13 years old.

  7. Translated works: Applications can only be made by the writer, not the translator. However, the translator's name needs to be mentioned as the 'Translator'. Translator does not share the price money -this decision is up to the author and translator's private agreement. However, the name of the translator needs to be mentioned in the announcement, as being the translator of the winning (or long-listed) story.
  8. Joint authorship: Joint authorship only counted if the work has been created together, not writing support, which will count as editing, proofreading, or translating or any similar support; but only in creating the story. Both writers have to agree that this is a joint work of them and they also agree on which writer will be the representative writer during the process, before submitting. Any doubts or complaints from any writer will cause the story/screenplay to be disqualified. The application needs to proceed with only one writer, therefore that writer will be representing both writers. The fee should be paid by this representing writer, and therefore the prize money will be paid to this representing writer. It is the representing writer's responsibility to share the prize money with the joint writer. Before submitting, all the conditions above must be read and agreed upon by both writers. (We do not give credit to the Editors or Proofreaders.)
