Neon Books is currently OPEN to pamphlet submissions

Neon Books publishes a selection of paper broadsides and pamphlets, which are sent out for free with print orders. Some of the projects we’ve published so far include:

On this page you’ll find all the information you need to submit a pamphlet you’ve written.

Before submitting your work…

We’d strongly recommend reading a few issues of Neon Literary Magazine, or ordering a chapbook from our shop. Doing so will give you the clearest possible idea of what we publish, and allow you to determine which of your works might be the best fit.

You can also download (for free) our existing pamphlets.

Please do consider supporting the press. Pamphlets and broadsides are distributed to readers for free, and the only way we can continue to publish them is through the support of our readers.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for short works, such as individual poems, small sets of very short poems, or short pieces of fiction. Hybrid works, comics and illustrated pieces are also very welcome.

As a guide to length, it should be possible to fit the entire piece onto a single sheet of A4 paper.

We really enjoy pieces that can be presented in an interesting or unusual way. If you can think of an interesting way of presenting your work, please do include a note describing this in your cover letter. There’s no need to format your work ready for printing.

Terms

We ask for non-exclusive, one-time, worldwide rights to publish your work in print and digital formats, and then to archive it indefinitely.

We pay a one-off fee of £25 on acceptance.

How to submit

  • Include a covering letter
  • Include a third-person bio (up to 100 words)
  • Include the words “Pamphlet Submission” in the subject line
  • Submissions are read by Krishan Coupland and Lee Mackenzie
  • Simultaneous submissions: okay
  • Reprints: welcome
  • One submission at a time, please

Send work to subs@neonmagazine.co.uk. Please add this email address to your whitelist or “safe sender” list. If you don’t, you may not receive a reply.

Please query if you have received no response after three months. We cannot offer feedback on pamphlet submissions.
