Terms and conditions:
Entrants must be 18 years old.
A panel of four SLEEK CITY PRESS readers will act as sifters for the preliminary stages of this contest. Guest adjudicator Jennifer Geist will decide from fifty finalists.
Entrants receive a confirmation mail within 48 hours on receipt of submissions and fee payment. Thereafter, due to a possible high number of entries, only finalists will be guaranteed personal notification about progression.
We’re not in favour of automatic responses so please rest assured your query will be attended to and confirmation given.
Transactions can only be facilitated via the secure PayPal link and winners will receive payment via PayPal accounts, within four weeks of notification.
Winners will be announced and published online by 10th July 2022. Prizes are limited to two per author for this contest.
SCP ask for one-time publication rights for the ten winning entries. Writers retain all other rights. SCP may ask winners for brief commentary or invite writers to participate in interviews for the purposes of sharing knowledge and experience. This will be decided post-event. Writers may decline these opportunities and doing so will in no way affect their standing with SCP or participation in future events.
We ask that the adjudicators’ decisions are respected and considered final.
This contest has no set theme. Writers may submit drabbles from any approach.

to introduce yourself and your ideas. Tell us why you think you might enjoy a stay at SLEEK CITY PRESS and how long you could possibly remain. As volunteer you will analyse and provide feedback on hot new international fiction, edit and be edited, be encouraged and assisted to apply for opportunities and chit-chat informally about writing in general. Paid roles arising in the near future will likely come under the consideration of promising volunteers first.
