Additional information:

 

  • Submission is free – 1 piece per edition.

  • All work must be previously unpublished.

  • Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but please let us know if your work is accepted elsewhere.

  • We encourage writers to submit transgressive and experimental work.

  • Typical response times are up to 3 months from the submission deadline.

  • We always endeavour to send individual rejection replies within the 3 month timeframe.

  • The editors' decision is final.

  • If you are unsuccessful, please do not be deterred from submitting new work for future issues – it may simply have been that your piece did not match the current theme. If this is the case, but the editors liked your work, they may request to hold it until the next issue.

Please read back issues of the journal before submitting, to get a feel for the types of pieces we publish.

Submissions should be e-mailed to:

submissions@superlativelitjournal.com

 

 

The e-mail subject line should read:

2021 JOURNAL SUBMISSION, YOUR NAME, TITLE OF YOUR PIECE

 

 

The body of your e-mail should include:

  • A 2-3 line bio of yourself – should your submission be successful, this bio will be published along with your work.

  • The reason you have chosen to submit your work to Superlative.

  • If there is a theme, the reason why you believe your piece fits within it.

  • Whether or not you are happy to receive editing suggestions.

  • The complete address you would like your complimentary copy of Superlative posted to, should you be successful. If an incorrect/incomplete address is provided, we will be unable to send a second complimentary copy to another address.

 

Your piece should be attached to the e-mail as a word document (.doc or .docx), not included in the body of the e-mail. All submitted documents must be anonymous.
